Kursalon

The Kursalon, designed in the style of the Italian Renaissance by Johann Garden, was built in 1867 as a recreation resort. It is located directly on the historic Ringstrasse and amidst Stadtpark, Vienna’s city park. After completion, it soon became famous in the high society of Vienna, known especially for the cult of the waltz and joie de vivre. Johann Strauss would perform with his orchestra here in the 19th Century. Presently, it is made up of four ballrooms on two floors, a large terrace, and a restaurant.
